Vodaphone Fixed!
We are happy to inform you that the signaling fault affecting SMS delivery to several Vodafone Group networks has now been rectified.
At this time we do not have further information about the fault itself but we have been able to confirm that new messages are delivering to all affected Vodafone networks now. Old messages are delivering according to SMSC retry schedules.
We do apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and thank you for your patience.

Message from our SMS Provider: Vodaphone SMS Problems
Many international networks belonging to the Vodafone Group are currently unreachable due to an SS7 signalling fault. Major networks that are affected include but are not limited to: Vodafone UK, Vodafone Germany, Vodafone Czech Republic, and Vodafone Spain.
In most cases, messages sent to these networks shall be queued up and delivered when the fault is resolved, however Vodafone Czech Republic may return failed reports immediately.
Delivery to Vodafone UK has been restored, however delivery to the other Vodafone networks will be unavailable until the issue is rectified. Unfortunately, even the Vodafone networks are unable to deliver messages to each other at this time.
We expect this issue to be resolved on Thursday morning. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Get your twitsms only when away from your computer
A while back, Richard Barley had a great idea on how you can turn your twitsms on / off easily from TweetDeck or other desktop Twitter applications.
We are considering creating a little desktop application that you could install that will do this. It will sense when you are at your computer and turn off twitsms notifications. It will also sense when you are away from your computer (or your computer is off) and turn twitsms back on. It will also let you turn off and on in one click - no more logging into the website.
We are also planning on creating a way to turn twitsms on and off just by DMing @twitsmson and @twitsmsoff. They will be following you shortly.
We would love to hear your thoughts on these new ideas. Please comment, tweet us at @twitsmsco or email us at support #AT# twitsms.com.au.

Lower Prices and more countries!
We have added (and for some countries switched to) a different SMS provider. This will give you lower prices for most countries. Fast delivery of messages should remain the same!
Any issues, @reply or dm us at @twitsmsco

Sometimes, you get what you pay for...
With the latest demise of free SMS from twitter over at http://twe2.com, international tiwtter users are back to the same choices they had back when twitter cut off international SMS last year - pay or get nothing.
It is just a harsh reality of the landscape at the moment: good SMS costs money. As we have learned, there are different SMS networks. The cheap ones are unreliable.
It is also very hard to get an advertising supported model as most advertisers won't pay for the last 20 characters in a SMS or to have an ad split over two messages. I'm sure this will change over time with some smart context based SMS ads delivered to both the sender and receiver of the message - but would you really want that?
We are always working to lower our prices and keep the reliability of the service up. If we can figure out how to deliver it from free to you, we will!
